20,000 tow-a-ways a day in America. NOW WHAT? Relax – You can handle this! Take action as soon as possible. The GOAL: Lock-down access to your crash data. If you do not have a lock – order one immediately online and get expediated delivery. Then self-Install or send the lock to someone who will Install the AUTOCYB black box lock on your vehicle. Modern passenger cars and light trucks use black box Event Data Recorders (EDRs) to create crash data. Congress passed the Driver’s Privacy Act of 2015 which cites that the vehicle owner or lessee “owns” the data and 17 states have additional EDR privacy statutes. However, we still need adequate consumer protection, especially following a crash. Thankfully, it’s now possible to secure access to the download port on the vehicle by using an OBD port lock. The lock is simple to install either pre-crash or post-crash (by the tow-truck driver) when the vehicle is impounded or being repaired.

We empower the vehicle owner by safeguarding access to BLACK BOX (EDR) crash data.
